ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Blackbyrd, LLC, announced the addition of an events division, to include the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship presentations for five sports over the next three years. Previously focused predominantly on digital media and optimization for its clients, Blackbyrd brings a combined 70 years’ experience in event management from other ventures and is poised to continue the presentation of these existing events and future growth.

 

In addition to the MIAA Championships for football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse and baseball, Blackbyrd will co-produce the Archbishop Spalding vs. Don Bosco Prep rivalry football game on Friday, August 25th. Spalding, an MIAA A division football program, and last year’s 2022 champion, will be competing against one of New Jersey’s best private school programs in Don Bosco Prep. The game will be live streamed on MIAA YouTube channels.

 

Blackbyrd, founded in 2017, manages a variety of areas for its clients including marketing, digital advertising, website and graphic design, consulting and public relations. Principals Mark Burdett and Lisa LaPlaca have worked together on many different ventures for almost a decade including with Major League Lacrosse’s Chesapeake Bayhawks, Chesapeake Sports and Entertainment Group, Legendary Sports Group, Fivestar and others.
